Personalized Professional Makeup Mentorship

Terms & Policies

My goal is to provide each client with a professional, personalized and respectful learning experience. The following policies are intended to ensure that expectations are clear before we begin working together.

Sessions & Pricing

Individual mentorship sessions are 3 hours in length and are currently offered at $360 per session, plus applicable taxes where required.

A personalized mentorship may consist of a single session or a structured learning pathway developed around your individual goals, experience and areas of interest.

The scope, schedule and total cost of your mentorship will be confirmed before training begins.

Payment

Accepted methods of payment may include credit or debit card through the available online payment processor, Interac e-Transfer, or cash.

Payment arrangements will be confirmed as part of your booking or mentorship agreement and will comply with applicable Quebec consumer-protection requirements.

For mentorship pathways involving multiple sessions, payment schedules will be established in accordance with applicable law.

An invoice or receipt will be provided for payments received.

Scheduling & Appointments

Sessions are offered by appointment and must be scheduled during available mentorship hours.

Please arrive on time and prepared for your session. Sessions begin and end at the scheduled times. Late arrival may reduce the instructional time available and does not automatically extend the scheduled session.

If you need to reschedule an appointment, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.

If you are unable to attend or provide sufficient notice, please contact me as soon as possible. Missed sessions and any amounts owing will be handled in accordance with the mentorship agreement and applicable Quebec consumer-protection requirements.

Cancellation of a Mentorship Pathway

You may cancel a multi-session mentorship in accordance with your rights under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.

If cancellation occurs before the mentorship has begun, no cancellation penalty will be charged where prohibited by law.

If a multi-session mentorship is cancelled after training has begun, amounts owing or refundable will be calculated in accordance with applicable Quebec consumer-protection legislation.

Any refund required by law will be issued within the applicable legal timeframe.

Full cancellation details will also be included in your mentorship agreement.

Educational Materials

Depending on the subject of your mentorship, personalized written notes, recommendations, diagrams, face charts, reference material or other educational resources may be provided during or following a session.

Materials are provided solely for the student's personal educational use.

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, educational materials created by Jacques Besner may not be reproduced, copied, published, uploaded, distributed, resold, incorporated into another commercial training program or used to teach others for commercial purposes.

Receiving educational materials does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

Recording, Photography & Video

Audio or video recording of Jacques Besner while teaching, demonstrating or discussing mentorship material is not permitted without prior written permission.

Students are welcome to photograph or record their own practical work or work performed on their model, provided that the model has consented and that the recording does not capture protected educational materials or other individuals without their permission.

Any commercial or public use of recordings made during a mentorship session should be discussed in advance.

Models

When a mentorship session involves practical application on another person, the student may be asked to provide an appropriate model.

The student is responsible for arranging the model's attendance and ensuring that the model understands the nature of the session.

Models must consent to makeup application and separately consent to any photography or video.

For reasons of hygiene, safety or skin integrity, I reserve the right to modify or discontinue an application when I reasonably believe it would be inappropriate or unsafe to proceed.

Products, Tools & Hygiene

Specific products, tools or materials may be recommended depending on the objectives of the session.

Students will be informed in advance when they are expected to bring particular products, tools or kit materials.

Professional hygiene and sanitation practices are expected throughout practical training.

Personal Belongings & In-Home Sessions

Some mentorship sessions may take place in my private professional workspace.

Students and models are responsible for keeping track of personal belongings, valuables, makeup kits and equipment brought to the premises.

Everyone attending a session is expected to treat the workspace, equipment and property with reasonable care and respect.

Certificate of Accomplishment

A Certificate of Accomplishment may be available to clients who complete an agreed 5-session mentorship pathway.

The certificate recognizes completion of personalized professional makeup training with Jacques Besner. It is not an academic diploma, professional licence or government-recognized credential.

Professional Conduct & Learning Environment

Mentorship is intended to provide a respectful, inclusive and professional learning environment.

Students, models and instructor are expected to behave respectfully toward one another and to maintain appropriate professional boundaries throughout the session.

I reserve the right to end a session where abusive, threatening, discriminatory, unsafe or seriously inappropriate behaviour makes continuation unreasonable.

Results & Individual Progress

Mentorship provides professional instruction, guidance, demonstration and feedback. Individual progress will vary according to experience, practice, objectives and participation.

Completion of mentorship does not guarantee employment, professional certification, income or any particular career outcome.

Privacy

Personal information provided for booking, communication and mentorship planning will be used only as reasonably necessary to administer the service, communicate with you and personalize your training, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

Photographs, videos or other identifiable images of a student or model will not be used for promotional purposes without appropriate consent.

Questions Before Booking

If you are unsure whether a particular policy applies to your situation, please contact me before confirming your mentorship.

I want the expectations surrounding our work together to be as clear and personalized as the mentorship itself.

These Terms & Policies are intended to complement, and not limit, any rights or protections provided by applicable Quebec law.
